Recently, a lot of negativity from an anonymous source has come to my fiance and his family. While we are pretty sure we know where it is coming from, but this blog is not to attack this person or to stoop to their level. This is a blog about my fiance and his family and what they mean to me. It is also an observation about how I see the ways my fiance and his family feel about each other.

First, my relationship with Seth has been questioned by some since day one. When Seth and I met, we were both in awkward places. We were both fresh out of unhealthy relationships and had not fully dealt with the baggage that came with those. It was only supposed to be about friendship in the beginning. Fate has a funny way of intervening though. Did we rush into things? Probably. Did we both do inappropriate things in the early stages of our relationship? Yes. But, in the aftermath of that came an understanding that we really were in love and wanted to be with each other. From that moment on, Seth has been my one and only in a physical and mental sense. I know he feels the same about me. He is my everything, my rock and he balances me when my otherwise crazy world spins out of control. I wake up every morning to kiss him goodbye and tell him I love him as he goes to work. I come home every day to his smiling face, big hug and a question about how my day was and what I want for dinner. It's been 2 1/2 years and it still feels like it's all brand new. I could not have picked a better person to spend my life with.

In regards to my feelings and relationship with Seth's family, I can simply say this and have said this to numerous people in my life: I could not have been blessed with better in-laws than these. Curtis and Charlie are now a part of my family, both legally and in my heart. Charlie is one of the strongest women I have ever met. She constantly deals with drama and negativity in her life and is even willing to help people who have hurt her. She loves and cares for those around her with her whole heart. Seth and Charlie have had their problems, but since Seth has moved in with me, his relationship with his mother has become so strong. He loves and cares for her in a way that is so endearing to me and makes me know where his priorities are: with his family. Curtis is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. He will break his own back to help another human being and has helped me out in more ways than I can name. He never asks for anything in return. He has been the perfect combination of a father, older brother and best friend for Seth. I know that most of the man Seth has become is because of the influence of Curtis.

Bottom line: Seth and I are blissfully happy. I have a great relationship with his mother and his father. I talk to them as much as I talk to my own parents. We are getting married in three months. We are both mature and successful adults who do not appreciate having to defend our relationship. We also do not appreciate having to defend our family members. These anonymous notes and friend requests do not upset us nor do they cause problems in our relationships with each other. From this point on, the four of us will only be focusing on our real lives and the wedding. We are no longer paying attention to any internet drama that comes our way. It will be deleted and ignored. The only emotion these notes evoke from us is sadness for the person who is writing them and for the fact that they can't tell us to our faces what they think. If you have something to say, say it to our faces in person. Otherwise, you will be ignored.

Gosh, it just occurred to me how I never post, and then it occurred to me that it's probably ok, cause I think very few people read my blog anymore! Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I mainly use this to keep track of my book list and what I've already read. But I figured I could throw something worth reading up here as well.

It's been MONTHS since I've sat down and put anything here. So where to start? My life, well, it's boring really. I wake up each day, Monday through Friday, at the same time and go to work. My job is, well, it's a job. I love what I do, but some of the kids are pushing me to my limit this year. There has also been some friction among the teachers and disrespect between co-workers that makes work a little rough sometimes. But mostly, I laugh and smile while at work and everything is good.

Wedding planning consumes most of my free time. I'm either thinking about it, ordering stuff for it, talking to people about it, or trying things out for it. But it's coming together very nicely. Seth and I will be married in a family only ceremony at 2:30 on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Goodale Park. After the ceremony ends and we get our pictures done by our amazing photographer Vince with our wonderful friends and family, we, along with the bridal party, will drive to the hotel, where we will take a shuttle to The Columbus Athenaeum for the reception at 6. After dancing (with the amazing Joe Phipps as Dj)and drinking (open bar, I currently have 500 dollars of liquor in my bedroom) the night away, we will take the shuttle back to the hotel and close the hotel bar down. I already have my dress, the bridesmaid's dresses, the invitations, postage for the invitations, gifts for the groomsman and bridesmaids and our wedding bands.

What little time I do have left, I spend with Seth. We see so little of each other during with week it seems. He's been working out more since his brother moved back, I have babysitting and school stuff that keeps me out late a couple nights a week, so we try to make weekends about us.

I don't give him enough credit sometimes either I think. He can be absolutely frustrating in many ways, but so can I! He handles me and accepts me completely. I don't think I've ever been myself with anyone else I've ever been with. And he loves me as I am. Even the bad parts. He's amazingly thoughtful, he works his ASS off at his job, and still finds time to make me feel special and loved. I'm so excited to start our lives together.

I may, however, have to issue an internet threat to his ex. She keeps e-mailing him and has now even gone so far as to e-mail his mom. He doesn't respond and has no desire to talk to her, so I'm not sure for what reason she still reads his journal and thinks it's ok to contact him or his mom? MOVE ON LADY! IT'S BEEN OVER FOR THREE YEARS!

Oh, yeah, I'm possessive of my man, have I mentioned that? :)

Anyway, there's a little/big update. Hope you had fun reading it! :)

Seth and I went Friday night after work to Glow Putt. It's hard to describe it, but it was a lot of fun. It's like blacklight indoor putt-putt golf. Go to the website and check out my pictures for a better explanantion.

Saturday we are going to put a deposit for our reception spot. My parents are coming up (surprise). I was beginning to doubt their enthusiam for this wedding. Then I have to go babysit in Newark that night.

Sunday we may go to a bridal show at Easton. Unsure about that as of yet. I will update this as the weekend finishes up!

Weekends go by so fast......

Ok, so past few weekends wrap up...shall we?

Weekend of July 25th, we took Marcus out on Friday night before he left. Ww went to Brothers and had drinks with Mandy, Matt, Julie and Vince and had a great time. Then, Marcus, Seth, Matt, Mandy and I went to a strip club cause Seth had never been to one. Hilarious times were had. On Saturday, we dropped Marcus off at the airport and then headed downtown for the Jazz and Rib Fest. What an awesome time! Pictures are in my Myspace photo album. Needless to say, if you've never been, and you like ribs, it's a great time. Take lots of cash and a folding chair and try all different kinds of great ribs!

The weekend of Aug 1st, I worked at the church daycare for Lisa. I also went shopping but didn't really do anything all that exciting.

The weekend of Aug 8th, I went to New Concord to have brunch with a bunch of my SAI sisters. We all went from brunch and spent some time at the old house before they tear it down. We decorated the walls in the basement and just hung out like old times. Then I spent the night at Matt and Julie's, drinking and reconnecting with old friends. I have decided that I need to try harder and keep in touch with these people. I had forgotten how much fun they are!

Now, for this weekend: BORING! I have to go to Noble County for my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary party and we have no plans yet for Sunday. We'll see if that changes.

I've taken a little hiatus from Columbus exploring, but it's because other things have come up! :)

Weekends of July 11th and 18th

Friday the 11th, Seth and I went downtown to try a restaurant that I had heard good things about. The menu was small, but the food we ordered was AMAZING! Especially if you like comfort food! The name of the place is Tip-Top. Pictures are in my picture album. www.tiptopcolumbus.com

The rest of that weekend was pretty lazy, as I didn't feel very good.

Last weekend, the 18th, Seth's brother came into town. Saturday night, we went and had a few drinks at Angelica's and then went and played pooled at Butter's Bar in Gahanna. Then Sunday we went to Gameworks at Easton.

This weekend is shaping up to be fun. Tonight, we are taking Marcus out before he leaves town and a bunch of my coworkers are going too! And then tomorrow, we are going downtown for the Jazz and Rib Fest. Can't wait! Look for the pictures!

Weekend of July 4th!

Weekend of July 4th!
Last weekend, on Friday, we went over to the Gahanna Gold Course with Amanda to watch the fireworks. Parking was a breeze, we were only an hour early, they had a live band and lots of food. It was really a great time! This will be where I watch fireworks from now on! No more trying to fight downtown and get a good spot to see them!
Link: http://www.gahanna.gov/departments/parks/golf.asp

On Saturday, we went and looked around 3 parks, Goodale Park, Park of Roses and the Topiary Garden. Pictures are on my Myspace, myspace.com/mirandacline, in the Ceremonies folder. I'm down to either Park of Roses and Goodale Park. The Topiary Garden was a very cool place, but it didn't have the right feel for a wedding ceremony.
Links: Park of Roses: http://recparks.columbus.gov/Parks/Parks_4.asp
Goodale Park: http://recparks.columbus.gov/Parks/Parks_3.asp
Topiary Garden: http://recparks.columbus.gov/Parks/Parks_7.asp

More exploring to come! :)

Weekend of July 3rd

It occurs to me that almost a week has gone by and I haven't had time to report about exploring last weekend. Where the fuck does all my free time go? Anyway....

Last weekend was a little of a bust, cause of all the rain (this girl refuses to venture out very far when it's raining.) I WAS going to go to Comfest, but the rain....ah the rain.

One place I did explore was the possible sight for my reception: The Columbus Athenaeum: www.columbusmeetings.com. If you go to the website, and click the rooms link at the top, scroll down to the oak room and that is where my first party as a married women will take place! Great place and a wonderful lady.

On the agenda for this weekend: Gahanna Gold Course for fireworks Saturday and on Sunday (if it's not raining) Seth and I are going to visit and decide if we wanna get married in Goodale Park, Park of Roses or the Topiary Garden. There will hopefully be pictures and more excitment in the next blog than in this one. :)

Exploring Columbus

Even though I have lived in this city for going on 4 years now, there are still many things I haven't seen or done that people say are the best things about Columbus. My goal this summer is to change that. I've been to lots of different things and Seth and I are going to start touring and visiting more things within the city. Take yesterday for example. Neither of us had ever been to the North Market. It is a wonderfully fun place full of many different vendors selling fresh fruit, meat, seafood and different kids of international foods as well. We had some Indian food (my first) and seth got a juice from a tea company and I had some Jeni's ice cream. We sat outside and watched a street performer sing and play his french horn. Then, after driving around a bit, we decided to stop in at the Book Loft, which I had been to before, but just love getting lost in. 32 rooms of books, and if you know me, it's a place I could stay for days and never get bored!

Links if you wanna check these places out online
North Market: http://www.northmarket.com/
Book Loft: http://www.bookloft.com/

So, do you have any places to recommend that I should check out. I have a whole list I want to do, but I'm open to suggestions. :)
